Award-Winning John Cruz is Featured Artist at Concerts at The Shops on March 21 A One-Night Performance of Soulful Music

Wailea, Maui, Hawaii – (March 6, 2018) John Cruz, Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award and Grammy Award winner, will perform live at The Shops at Wailea on Wednesday, March 21 as part of Concerts at The Shops series. A multi-talented musician, performer and producer, Cruz renders warm and touching melodies, capturing the hearts of many fans.

Popularly known for his soulful vocals and acoustic guitar-playing skills, Cruz has built a strong following from his early years in the entertainment industry. Since releasing his first album “Acoustic Soul” in 1996 (featuring the favorite “Island Style”), he has sold over 150,000 copies in Hawaii alone. In 2008, his album “One of These Days” became a chart topper, debuting at No. 1 in Hawaii, No. 2 on the Billboard Heatseekers Chart, and No. 6 on the Billboard World Chart. In 2012, his album was recognized by Honolulu Magazine as one of the “Top 25 Greatest Hawaii Albums of the New Century.”

Concerts at The Shops is a free, monthly concert series that is open to the public and features headlining musicians from all of the Hawaiian Islands. This music event occurs on the third and fifth Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7pm with performances at the main Fountain Courtyard at The Shops at Wailea.

In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui nonprofit each month with sixty percent of the special event parking fees going back to the non-profit. The nonprofit recipient for the month of March is the Maui Humane Society. The Shops’ goal is to enrich the community through exploration and discovery in the arts and music while supporting local businesses and non-profit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
