The Shops at Wailea Presents Award-Winning Hawaiian Trio, Keauhou Concerts at The Shops Invites Guests to Experience an Evening of Complimentary Music

Wailea, Maui, Hawaii – (October 23, 2017) The Shops at Wailea is proud to present award-winning musical trio, Keauhou, on Wednesday, November 15 at 5:30pm at the Fountain Courtyard.

Award-winning musical sensation Keauhou brings forth a new era of Hawaiian music. Their passion, under the guidance of akua, kūpuna, ʻohana, and kumu alike, coupled with the inspiration from Hawaiian music of the eras preceding them, drives the trio to offer a seemingly new sound to the Hawaiian music scene. The group’s name, aptly translated as “the new/renewed generation”, consists of three graduates of the Kamehameha Schools Kapālama - Kahanuola Solatorio and brothers, Nicholas and Zachary Lum. This year, the group took top honors at the Nā Hōkū Hanohano awards attaining nine awards in nine categories for their debut album, "Keauhou." Their second album entitled, "I ke Kō a ke Au," features seven original compositions and eight traditional mele Hawaiʻi and was released on October 4, 2017.

Concerts at The Shops is a free, monthly concert series that is open to the public and features headlining musicians from all the Hawaiian Islands. This music event occurs on the third Wednesday of every month from 5:30pm to 7pm with performances at the main Fountain Courtyard.

In a continued effort to give back to the community, The Shops at Wailea supports a different Maui nonprofit each month with sixty percent of the special event parking fees going back to the non-profit. November’s non-profit recipient is Best Buddies Hawaii, an organization dedicated to creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The Shops’ goal is to enrich the community through exploration and discovery in the arts and music while supporting local businesses and non-profit partners. The four-hour special event parking voucher is available for $5 and can be purchased at the non-profit’s parking table.
